Valentine confessions

Tonight I bought myself a dancing hamster that sings "cuz you're amazing just the way you are" . so whenever I feel like pushing his little furry hand I will be serenaded and i also bought a package of chocolate covered cookie dough bites... Can you blame a girl?
It makes me think back to jr.high and HS when my best friend, Christa, was my Valentine every year and we always bought stuffed hippos and candy for each other and made special cards.
For a couple years I also would get my favorite flowers from "my friend" that just happened to know my locker combination.
This year, I think about how ironic it is that I always looked forward to my twenties thinking that Valentine's would be so much more than stuffed hippos and surprise flowers in my locker.. When the reality is- I had it good! Lol
Luckily for me, I'm a preschool teacher and so my love for Valentine's day still has its own glittery, hot pink outlet even if its not what I thought it would be (because im incredibly single) and I had to buy my own dancing hamster.. Regardless, I'm so thankful to be where I'm at, to have the memories I've had and friendships that I do and a class full of babies who are crazy loving every single day!
