Today in addition to listening to almost the entire audiobook of The magician's Nephew, I wrote some thank you cards to some very special people.
On Friday, my dearest of friends threw me a birthday party. The best, most beautiful, special birthday party I've ever had!
I LOVE birthdays. I love to make a big deal about them, celebrate forever and make people feel special. I usually dislike birthday parties for me, however. For many reasons that I've come to rationalize over the years. But this one was memorable.
Everything cute and sweet and yummy was at my birthday party. (Yes, I'm totally bragging!)
A candy bar, a popcorn bar, homemade enchiladas and salsa and beans. The best cupcakes I've ever eaten. A hilarious movie in a adorable backyard picnic under the clear winter skies. The stars shone brightly, the cold winds stayed away and the bulk of my favorite people were there
And all just for me.
Everything was just wonderful.
And today I sat down to write thank you cards and I didn't have enough words to thank my friends for making me feel loved and special and valuable and celebrated.
I'm so thankful for their constant friendship and encouragement and prayers and love.
What a lucky girl I am to be surrounded by such great and thoughtful people.
I could totally cry happy tears right now.
I'm really really thankful!
I hope that as I take on this 24th year of living I can reciprocate the blessing of the people around me.
Thanks, friends!
