Be our Map!

Hello, from Seattle,Washington!
I'm wide awake in the dark of the morning..cold toes and nose and some very unhappy joints! HA! It's funny because it's pretty darn beautiful here that I could grow accustomed to the rain and the cold for the alternating smells of dense city smog and the freshest nature there is! It's fall and it's about to rain. I'm not quite sure what that will mean for me as I explore the area today.

Last night we had quite an adventure. Seattle's highway system is not like San Diego's even though the wonderful and familiar 5 freeway is here. There's a major lack of signage in my opinion, making it difficult when you don't even know what to anticipate!
There was some pretty extensive road work which of course threw is off course and made google maps hate us as it tried to reroute us while moving. It was comical how many times we missed exits...except for when we saw The Great Wheel turn off from a distance when we still couldn't figure out how to get there. When I looked at the map before starting my drive, everything was promising and then roadwork or a lane closure and that promise went out the window as we seemed to make a giant flower with the iconic Space Needle as the center, never actually reaching anywhere we intended. Since I had an elaborate plan to effectively and efficiently visit Seattle, I onus this a nerving. That's was night one...surely everything must be easier in the daylight despite the rain right?
I can't help but notice how much last night felt like my outlook on life. It starts out SO promising when I read my Bible, taking in the map and then it's dark and there's detours and I can't seem to follow the map to the right exits and parking. I must continually consult the map that is God's Word!
And probably more that I consult goggle maps or yelp or trip advisor...
From my devo's this morning-- truth and hope for my heart and my day:
"6 A voice says, "Cry!" And I said, "What shall I cry?" All flesh is grass, and all its beauty is like the flower of the field.
7 The grass withers, the flower fades when the breath of the LORD blows on it; surely the people are grass.
8 The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever. "
Isaiah 40:6-8
