Prayer

"Correct me, O LORD, but in justice; not in your anger, lest you bring me to nothing." 

Jeremiah 10:24

   Today is the day Lord. It's the day that you have made. You know all of its happenings. You know the hearts of your people. Everything that you ordain is good like you are. Please show yourself strong and gracious on behalf of your people today.
    Please Lord. Would you please pour out your mercy in this day? Surround us with your love. Show us the gospel in a fresh manner today. Express your strength and favor toward your people. Don't quit on us because of our sin. We are needy. We are unfaithful and foolish. Will you show your forgiving kindness this morning? Will you truly wreck our idols and hearts of stone? Will you please be nearer to us than ever before? Will you restore our trust and focus in you alone? Will you please let your people seek unity in who You are? Will you protect the helpless and innocent? Will you please satisfy your people with your goodness? Will you work in a way that only you can? Will you open hearts to forgive and love in a way that no one could ever manufacture on their own? Will you please let love cover our multitude of sin? Will you heal your peoples hurts and save them from despair and heartache? Will you pour out wisdom and hope in a way that is truly miraculous?
   Your hand is not shortened to save today! You are faithful and true. You are Father and Friend. You are a Great Savior and you  have such great grace! Is there any sin too big that it couldn't be handled on the cross? Is there any shame or embarrassment so great that you couldn't have victory over it? Please intervene in our hearts! Show us how big you are. How holy. Make us holy as you are holy. Show us how committed you are to our sanctification and future glorification.
  Whatever may come of today help me to trust you. If it's the worst imagine able outcome and your people sulk in shame and despair help me to trust you. If I lose all everyone and everything let me cling to you that I might experience and love you more deeply. Do everything for your glory. Take all the glory here Lord. It's all you. The hearts of kings are in your hand. There is nothing secret to you- no sin or anger or bitterness or consequence. Help us to see everything in light of the cross and who you are to us. Be ever present. Be our strength cause we are so weak. Be king of our hearts. Be victor over our sin. Draw us to you today. In all things.
